The Concrete Chess Made by Architects for Architects

Allow me to get a personal view on this this chess board and pieces. As an architect, I believe most of us have already thought of making our own chess piece design, maybe inspired on the classics one or on the geometric shapes of the bauhaus concept.

This particular one makes me happy and sad at the same time. Happy because it’s perfect, and sad because it’s not mine. Ukrainian architect Slava Balbek and a team of designers Alina Vovkotrub and Roman Khoroshylov designed this concrete chess board and pieces with incredible attention on detail. There are 2 designs as i previewed earlier, a classic take and a modern one. Both look just amazing either as a stand alone piece or in the game itself.

Have a look at both the designs here and, if you feel like you just found what you have been looking for in a long time, here’s Propro‘s website where you can buy this set and many other furniture designs that we love as well.
