This is the Disconnect series is a series of cutlery designed by Francesco Brunetti that explains itself in just one look.

Separating (or disconnecting) the two parts that usually work together as on fluid shape, the head and the grip, is the clear secret of this successful design. The slick handle is a simple cylindrical body that meets the blade, the deposit or the teeth of each functional end in a “brutal” way.

Yet to be proven as an actual functional design (that is the goal of design in itself) as it is not but a series of conceptual graphics, but some compelling ones nonetheless.
