New year’s resolutions are cliché and generic, but you need to be thinking of a sensible one or several that you can actually stick to and accomplish throughout the new year.
We’ve put together a list of possible resolutions you could take on board if you are some kind of designer, artist or work in the creative industry. Let us know in the comments bellow if you’ve got any to add to the list.
1- Start a side project
Having all your focus on one goal can be exhausting and can lead to you procrastinating. Starting a side project can keep your head in the game and keep your mind open and active while still smashing your main goals.
2- Expand your skillset
If you’re in the creative industry there’s never a limit on how much you can learn and maybe teach and share knowledge with others, you can separate yourself from the rest by putting yourself out there and learning something new.
3- Share your knowledge with a community
One of the most important resolutions on the list, you should always be looking to share what you learn to help other people in the same field as you and learn something in return.
4- Be more productive
Don’t work harder, work better. You don’t need to work yourself into an early grave to be successful, create schedules, to-do lists, and goals so you can get the most out of your workday.
5- Be prepered to say no
No matter what field you’re in, always be prepared to say no. As much as it’s a good idea to step out of your comfort zone and to say yes to new things that are going to expand your skillset, you need to be able to say no to things that won’t benefit you in any way.
6- Take some time away from your computer
It may be a good resolution to become a little bit less digital and more analogue, this could be hard depending on what creative industry you’re in, but taking some time away from your computer and digital tools allows your brain to reset and will work out for the best in the long run.
7- Aim for a better work/social life balance
For your mental and physical health, it’s very important to have a good work/social life balance, especially if you’re known for being a workaholic. Don’t be so consumed by your work, and concentrate on the things that really matter.
The PROJAQK team wishes you a happy, creative and productive New Year!
