A DeLorean Dream by Angel Guerra

This is one tiny bit more than a mere revival of the well known and beloved DeLorean, this is the start of a car designer’s life. The dream was, and still is, to see a new design of the DMC DeLorean hitting the streets in the next few years, perhaps in celebration of it’s 40th anniversary.

Angel Guerra, is the spanish car designer behind this amazing project. Unhappy with the concepts that some designers have been bringing to the table, he took it as a personal project and goal to bring back the old DeLorean as he saw it, as he remembered it from the famous movie “Back to the future” where he first fell in love, and as he would like it to be now. It is a diferent time from when the car was originally produced, that in itself, in his point of view, requires a new and diferent approach to what the car should be, unlike some recent revivals we now see that simply feature an electric engine under the old hood.

With inspirations from Italian epoch design, Bauhaus’ simplicity and specific designers and cars language, Angel was able to create a design that respects the roots of the old DeLorean in it’s “gullwing doors, the stainless steel body, the rear trunk blades, the “turbine” rims, the black side stripe, openings and many other parts that directly remind us of the original piece of art from Giorgetto Giugiaro” and be, at the same time, a modern day supercar.
